My daughter’s families Christmas stockings needed some TLC this year after all the holiday fun two kids under the age of six create.
This morning as I began the mending, I was a little overwhelmed by all the beautiful memories that our family has stitched together since I started to needlepoint her stockings. The simple task of threading the needle gave me a peaceful moment to relish in gratitude.
My thoughts were the appreciation for our families closeness giving us the opportunity to celebrate the big things – holidays and birthdays as well as, little moments that matter – Sunday dinners, movies or just playing in the garden during the summer.
Like usual, a little bit of gratitude begins to grow, shifting to thoughts of how lucky we are that our four kids are turning out to be great humans and the next generation live close and are bright, kind and curious – and love to be with Nana and Pops (Nana the most obvi, if it was a contest, which of course it is not).
Even when fixing something broke, you can be happy if you choose to be. What are you grateful for today?
