You have met my girl before. Sweets. She will be 13 years old this month. She is the heartbeat of the family.

She is really showing down. I find myself snuggling her more. They say some dogs are a mirror of their owners. I would be so grateful if that were true.

While in heightened appreciation of her, I started to think about how my life would be different if I spoke to myself with the kindness I talked to my girl. Or if I spoke to everyone with that compassion.

This month, in the dog days of summer, my goal is to be a little SWEETer to myself and others. Want to join me?
